CONSULTATION

The first step in our process is to meet with you in-person to discuss your ideas and understand your needs. We will work collaboratively with your designer or provide recommendations on designers and architects that will best suit your needs. This process ensures that you, as the homeowner, are working towards a budget, rather than planning towards an open ended and costly renovation as well as a clear understanding of scheduling and timelines. SJ Construction believes that you should have control over every decision from beginning to end.Client control means you see real costs, budget and approve payment at every milestone. Once a budget has been established, concept drawings are complete (if required), and specifications are documented in the scope of work, SJ Construction will provide you with a finalized budget which will include all aspects of the renovation.

HOMEOWNER ONLINE ACCESS

Once you’ve decided to move forward with us, we want to make sure you’re in the loop every step of the way. We’ll provide you with login credentials to our online portal where you can login to keep track of the budget and the schedule, view progress photos, and submit new requests. You’ll also be able view and approve change orders, add or modify selections, access important documents, as well as utilize our online messaging system, where you can easily communicate with our team no matter if you are at home, or on vacation.

CONSTRUCTION

Once we have the approved permits and finalized scheduling, we can begin the construction phase of your project. Throughout this phase you can expect continuous client meetings, team updates and full transparency through your online access.Prior to the commencement of any work, we prepare your home for construction. Temporary partitions are set up, floors are protected, and tools are placed in a designated area. Work then begins with demolition and preparations are made for rough-in construction work such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and rough carpentry.

COMPLETION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

When the project is close to being completed, we will walk through the construction site with you and create a “Completion List”. This will be your opportunity to point out anything that still requires some attention. Once the list is compiled, the team will go through the list and complete all the items. We will then activate the warranty portion of the online portal and review and inform you of any regular maintenance required to protect your investment.
